You Could Be in the Vessels Club on December 21 Watching Your Horse Run for a Six-Figure Purse

If you’ve ever wanted to buy a horse and be in the Vessels Club two weeks later watching him run for a six-figure purse… this is the one.

Train B Taka — the Freighttrain B three-year-old gelding who has already earned nearly $100,000 this year at Los Alamitos — has qualified for the estimated $175,000 Southern California Derby (G2), the final American Quarter Horse stakes race of 2025, to be run December 21. If everything falls into place and Train B Taka wins it, the new owner could be standing in the winner’s circle with a gelding that would then have banked $186,917.

And yes — he sells before the race.

Trainer Marc Jungers didn’t hesitate. “I just called my friend Butch Wise and told him we’re putting the horse in his new FASTRACK Sale,” Jungers told TRACK Magazine late Tuesday afternoon. “The horse will be at Los Alamitos waiting on the derby final when he will be sold in the online sale on December 14.”

FASTRACK has already arranged everything so the new owner can step right into the experience. “They’ll get the papers transferred muy pronto,” Jungers said. “And the new owner can get a table reserved in the Vessels Club to watch the big race on December 21.”

Train B Taka comes in with a strong résumé. Out of the Apollitical Jess mare Apollititaka, he’s 7-3-3 in 15 outs at two and three. In 2024 he won the $30,000 Dillingham Handicap and the $25,000 Vandys Flash Handicap, and placed in both the Los Alamitos Winter Derby G1 and the El Primero Del Año Derby G2. He closed 2024 with a win in the Holiday Handicap at Los Alamitos. Sold as a yearling for $78,000 at Heritage Place, he is also a half-brother to this year’s deadheat Heritage Place Futurity winner Apollirevenge ($366,963).

Wise, a partner in Gainesville-based FASTRACK, said the timing couldn’t be more perfect. “Marc called me this past Monday after Train B Taka qualified for that derby. This is a very exciting development and exactly illustrates what FASTRACK Sales provides – rapid response in the marketplace. This horse will offer immediate excitement for the new owner(s) and an opportunity not only to race in an upcoming G2 race but numerous other graded races that will fit him in 2026.”

Train B Taka will be one of more than 50 lots offered in the December 14 sale. The entire offering — catalog-style pedigrees, photos, radiographs, agent information, and full auction details — is available now at www.fastracksales.com.
